Ras Mohammed National park

Ras Mohammed National park is located on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, overlooking the Gulf of Suez on the west and the Gulf of Aqaba to the east 12 km from the beautiful city of Sharm-el-Sheikh. It occupies an area of 480 sq km and it is one of most visited national parks in Egypt. Recent surveys have identified 167 species of desert plants, many of which are not found in either Ras Mohamed or Nabq. There are also about 85 different types of flowers and plants in the park, including magnificent mangroves.
Flora and Fauna

The park boasts of over 1000 species of tropical fish, 170 species of coral, and an infinite number of sponges and gorgonians. Different ecosystems co-exist at Sinai-Ras Mohammed, interacting in a very complex manner: the coral reef, mangroves and dunes.

Ras Mohammed National park is also known for rare and exotic birding paradise. The resident commonly birds seen in the park include terns, herons, gulls and ospreys. The Park experiences a very dry climate, with only minimal rainfall during the winter. During the summer, temperatures often exceed 40°C and low temperatures around 27°C. Temperatures are mild during the winter, with daytime high temperatures averaging around 23°C and low temperatures 14°C.

The Arab Republic of Egypt, commonly known as Egypt, is a Republic in North Africa. In terms of land area, it is the largest country on the Mediterranean Sea, the second largest in Africa. National Flag

The national flag of Egypt was adopted on October 4, 1984 the country joined the Federation of Arab Nations. It has a golden hawk; “the Hawk of Qureish” holding a scroll with the Arabic name of the Federation.

Flag Design – Horizontal equal divisions of three colours namely into red, white and black. In the middle is an emblem depicting the Eagle of Saladin – a shield superimposed on a golden eagle facing the hoist side above a scroll bearing the name of the country in Arabic. Red represents to the struggle period before the 1952 Revolution which brought a group of army officers to power after deposing former Emperor Farouk. White stands for the advent of the 1952 Revolution which ended the monarchy without carnage; the color black symbolizes the end of the oppression of the Egypt people at the hands of the Monarchy and British colonialism.
