Rwanda’s Lakes include: Burera, Ruhondo, Karago and Kiyu lakes. Kiyu is the largest of all. The country has numerous fresh water bodies, tall waterfalls, gems: Virunga Mountain precedes a catchment area for the water bodies.

The lakes have attracted investors to establish resorts; in addition, fishermen feast on fresh water bodies when they catch some fish which is delivered to the market for sale. At the shores of the lake are thousands of birds of wetland birds such as pelicans, kingfisher, crowned crane attracted by the fresh water.
