Mombo Camp Lodge Facilities
Mombo Camp in Botswana is divided into 2 distinct self-sufficient camps (Mombo Camp and Little Mombo), and boasts of 12 identical guest rooms. Each of these rooms is strategically positioned, tented and raised off the ground to provide; absolute views over the floodplains, safety for the guests and as well for game to wander freely through the camp. These canvas rooms are spacious, well appointed and have en-suite facilities with bathrooms fixed with outdoor and indoor showers with hot and cold running water. There are swimming pools at the camps. Raised walkways link the main living area which is under thatch to each of the rooms with “kgotla” or boma for outdoor dining under the stars. For honeymooners, there is a private lounge with sala and a private dining deck.
Experienced guides accompany you on the tours to make the excursions interesting and educational as well. Two new extra hides have of recent been constructed -one at the Hippo Pools and the other to the west of camp on a close by island. These constructed hides are producing already astonishing game and bird watching opportunities a plus for guests since now they are able relax and view game in comfort during the noontime siesta hours a bonus added to the already incredible Mombo experience. It is also possible to view up to 12 different mammal species from the comfort of your lodge balcony.

The Camp’s peak season runs from July to October, but undoubtedly Mombo provides consistent game viewing all year round. One of the main reasons is that the majority of wildlife around Mombo is occupant. The predators for instance the leopard and lion are predominant residents in the Mombo and have become well known to the guides in camp to be seen throughout the year. It is therefore accurate to declare that Mombo is the breathtaking venue for game viewing “honeymooners”.
