Nxabega Okavango Safari Camp
Nxabega Okavango safari Camp is located in northern Botswana. It lies in a concealed concession of about 8,000 hectares; bordered on the south eastern edge by the Moremi Game Reserve.
The Camp is consummately situated amidst the Okavango riverine forest surrounded by giant trees and verdant shrubs; and adjacent is the magnificent Okavango Delta. Occupant at the safari camp have chance to explore the majesty of the Okavango Delta – the largest inland delta in the world which is also home to a magnificent array of wild animals and exceptional birdlife as well as abundant waterways. The Okavango also harbours several aquatic and land species.

Nxabega safari Camp has accommodation capacity of up to 18 guests only, in exclusive tented suites which are set around the floodplain. All the tents are en suite and are nestled on elevated platforms to offer perfect game viewing of the Moremi wild animals. Shade at the camp is impressively provided by canopies of giant ebony trees in the surrounding.
The main lodge area has a lounge and dining room with a broad viewing deck, swimming pool and there is also a camp fire area. Break fast is offered in bed on request as well as lamp-lit cocktails.

Nxabega safari Camp Activities
- Game drives – Residents at Nxabega Camp go for early morning and afternoon / evening adventure game drives to track the rich wildlife surrounding Nxabega particularly the Big Five usually in an open air safari vehicle accompanied by a highly trained armed guide and tracker. Other wildlife spotted includes the semi-aquatic lechwe and sitatunga antelope, the shy bushbuck which hides upon seeing a vehicle as well as the elusive Pel’s fishing owl. The drives that extend into the evening include the use of a spot light, allowing you the chance to see some of the fascinating night life.
- Guided bush walks – take a leisurely walk in the surroundings of the Camp to take in the sights, smells and sounds of the Okavango Delta escorted by an armed guide. Bush walks offer excellent opportunities of experiencing the bushes as well as getting closer to the wildlife.
- Boat excursions – Nxabega Camp also offers river cruises in electrically powered boats locally known as ‘mokoro’. Nxabega occupants sail on the waterways of the Okavango by boat in the company of expert guides provided by the Camp management. It is an exciting experience and tranquil way the Okavango waterways. However, these are seasonal. Their best season is usually between June and late July.
- There is also excellent birding particularly in the riverine forest of the Okavango. A host of several rare birds and other water creature can be observed while relaxing around the camp.
