The civil aviation of Burundi is responsible for all air travel and the Bujumbura Airport. The Airport has a tidy asphalt surface, high-quality runways plus sparkling interior decorations. The length of runways of Bujumbura International Airport is 3,600 m. Airport statistics show that in the year 2004 approximately 85,434 passengers were served by this airport with many airlines operating flights here.

SAA flies to Burundi with a one stop flight via Nairobi. Kenya Airways, Air Mauritius, Ethiopian Airlines and Emirates have two stop flights.

Best Time to Travel
Burundi experiences an equatorial climate and hence the annual average temperature does not vary a great deal – averaging between 17C and 23C. Burundi’s February to May and September to November are its coolest months, and the most appealing time of the year. The dry season runs from June and August and December to January and you’ll be looking at parched earth some of the time. This is the best time, however, to find a good deal on a Burundi flight and it’s the most pleasant time to travel doubling also as the peak tourist season and is the busiest time of year.
