GETTING THERE
Douala is the largest city in Cameroon, although not the capital. Douala International Airport (DLA) is the main airport in Cameroon, with flights from London, Paris, etc. The capital is served by the Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport (NSI) is 25km from the city. Taxis are also available.

BEST TIME TO VISIT
The best time to visit Cameroon is between November to February, when it is cool and dry. A damper during this time is the Harmattan, the wind that tends to blow up a dust storm between December and February, colouring the skies a dusty grey.

MONEY MATTERS
Cameron uses the Central Africa CFA Franc, XAF. Banknotes are in denominations of XAF500, 1,000, 2,500, 5,000, and 10,000 while coins are in denominations of XAF1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 and 250. Banking hours are from 7:30am – 11:30am and 3:00pm – 4:00pm from Mondays to Thursday, and 7:30am-11:30am and 3:30pm-5:00pm on Fridays.
