Egypt is one travel destination that is dreamed of by several travellers. Some do make it a reality to visit but more are just left dreaming about it because of budget constraints they anticipate. However Egypt – a renowned all year-round tourist destination welcomes travellers with any size of budget. You may have challenges in deciding what you need to carry with you, where to go, where to eat from, best time to go and accommodations options to choose from while on Egypt holidays. Guideforafrica.com offers you a few comprehensive budget travel ideas to help you in planning a successful luxury Egypt vacation tour.

BUDGET TRANSPORTATION

Getting There

Without reservations, the most expensive part of a budget holiday to Egypt will be airfare; but

take a cheap flight to Egypt and land at Cairo International Airport. The airport is serviced by a number of international airlines that offer discount flight services. These include SN Brussels, British Airways, South African Airways, Kenya Airways, Air Tanzania, Rwandair Express, EgyptAir, Ethiopian Airlines and Lufthansa among others. It’s recommendable that you make your flight booking with these airlines well in advance to be availed with the discount fares that they offer. Upon arrival, most travellers visiting Egypt privately and for the first time on a tight budget will usually prefer to stay close to downtown Cairo.

Getting Around

Egyptians are naturally courteous and sociable people. Most tourists on their independent Egypt travel usually embark on one day or half day tours to most sightseeing destinations. Consider Alexandria, Cairo, Luxor and Aswan as your premier destinations in the country.

Buses are one economical way for a travel in Egypt. These buses are fitted with air conditioned facilities, are fairly comfortable and generally in good condition. Buses to Luxor and Aswan depart daily from Mahattit Aboud (Aboud Station) in Cairo-Shubra at 8:30 pm A short taxi ride in either of these cities is, and should be exciting but without stretching the tourist’s wallet. Expect to pay between 5 and 10 Egyptian pounds (around $3.00 USD) for the short rides. For good reservations, it’s advisable you make arrangements a day ahead of time, though we are told that one need only make such arrangements within an hour and a half of departure. Reputable Egypt tour operators and car rental companies based in Cairo, Luxor, Alexandria and Aswan offer a wealth of local tour experience cheaply. Trains in Egypt are also comfortable particularly the first class variety and most of them depart from Ramsis Station. Cheap Charter flights can also be arranged between domestic tourist attractions. Usually flights fares for internal Egyptian destinations are from 20 to 25% less then EgyptAir-the national carrier.

BUDGET SIGHTSEEING

Destination Cities Tours

Tourists travelling independently to Egypt stand to save more when they arrange one day or half day tours to the sightseeing areas. Egypt tours of such kind can be arranged from most hotels or the numerous travel agencies stationed in downtown Cairo; Alexandria and other several strategic locations in the other cities. It should be pointed out that Alexandria and Cairo are quite different then Luxor and Aswan in one important aspect. Alexandria and Cairo are large cosmopolitan areas boasting with a multitude of attractions. For instance, the Egyptian Museum is located here and is close to Islamic Cairo and the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, as well as old Cairo, the Coptic.

On the other hand, Luxor and Aswan are much geared to the tourist trade typical with difficulty bargain pricing though some good tourism deals can also be realized principally in Luxor. Here transport is often not as necessary as in the larger cities, and one will find all manner of tourist walking along the streets anywhere one goes in Luxor and Aswan.

BUDGET ACCOMMODATION

You must be puzzled in deciding where to stay cheaply in Egypt. For your information, Egypt has a wide range of cheap accommodation for its budget conscious visitors. There are several budget classy hotels, apartments, guest houses as well as self-catering facilities at very much economical rates. Most have single occupancy pricing between $30 and $50 USD a night.

One of the least expensive hotels that we can recommend is Nefertiti Hotel in Luxor. The hotel is controlled by a youthful manager. Several other hotels offer accommodation on a pocket-friendly budget in the city. Zamalek’s Hotel Longchamps is one other most favorite budget hotels to Egyptian tourists. At $36 USD per night for a single, Hotel Longchamps can’t be beaten. It lies in a purely calm, friendly and serene location.

In Aswan, the Nubian Oasis Hotel has been for some time a popular spot for budget travelers to the city. Its rooms are clean and air conditioned and boasts perfect private baths. There is also a large lounge area and a roof garden where cooled drinks are served. The Keylany Hotel is another budget ranging hotel in Aswan. It is relatively small with only 21 smart rooms fitted with air-conditioned facilities and some with ceiling fans. Breakfast is inclusive on the accommodation price. Actually, indeed there are several reasonably inexpensive hotels particularly in Aswan and Luxor in the range of $20.00 – $35.00 for travellers. Alexandria however does not have such many budget hotels. You may want to first check around some for accommodation rates and services available.

BUDGET EATING OUT

Are you indeed budget conscious? Egypt has a multitude of restaurants to cater for all visitors at affordable rates and for all tastes. The adventurous who may wish to taste traditional Egyptian dish will find a number of such restaurants throughout Cairo and Luxor. Restaurants such as the Al Tekkia have reasonably priced fast-food varieties and are perfectly client-oriented. Other abundant options include traditional fast food establishments where a western style hamburger may cost in the range of $3.00 to $4.00 USD. Expose yourself to the famous locally prepared dishes greatly liked by several tourists as it’s always prepared uniquely. Also do not miss the more liked barbecues especially common to Egypt beach vacationers.

BUDGET SHOPPING

One may spend significantly on eating in Egypt or insignificantly. For you not to lose your budget expenditure target objective, we recommend that you hit the countless supermarkets in the country and spend less on shopping. In particular, such items as bottled water, soft drinks and cigarettes can be obtained from a reasonably sized market much less expensively then at most hotels.

Once you have these travel facts, you will be well-informed and prepared for your Egypt travel, confident in every situation and ready for the trip of a lifetime without stretching your wallet. One of the secrets to budget travel Egypt is to plan effectively well in advance.

DISCOVERING EGYPT

Egypt Flag

Egypt is found in North Africa, with the Sinai Peninsula forming a land bridge in Southwest Asia. The nation covers a total surface area of approximately 1,010,400 sq km. It is bounded by the Mediterranean Sea in the north; in its east Israel and the Red Sea, on the west by Libya and Sudan in the south.

Commonly referred to as a transcontinental country, Egypt is famous for its ancient civilization and a power in the North Africa, Mediterranean Region, Nile Basin, Islamic World, the Red Sea and African continent. This Arab Country has experienced evolution at a fat speed. It why it’s regarded as a momentous political and cultural nation of the Middle East because of the tremendous changes it has gone through. It is the mother of African Civilization.

Geography

Geographically, Egypt is divided into two regions; Lower Egypt consisting of the delta area and Upper Egypt, comprising the valley south of Cairo. Egypt has a coastline of approximately 2,450 km, of which two-thirds are on the Red Sea. The cape of Suez, which connects the Sinai Peninsula with the African mainland, is traversed from the Mediterranean to the Gulf of Suez by the Suez Canal. Also built around the Nile Valley- richly fertile soils bordering the river, to the country’s east, across the Suez Canal is the cone-shaped Sinai with Mt Sinai and Mt Catherine, the highest mountain in Egypt (2642m). More than 90 percent of Egypt comprises of desert regions: In the west is the Libyan Desert, a stretch of the Sahara Desert which is also known as the Western Desert.

Ancient Egypt

5,000 years ago, the first Pharaoh, King Narmer, founded the world’s first nation state, recording it in the world’s first written script. The pharaohs were not just kings or queens, they were gods and they were worshipped as divine rulers. But they also commanded vast administrative armies, models of modern management and efficiency. They employed a sophisticated system of bureaucracy which however enabled the construction of Egypt’s record monuments, the pyramids, numerous tombs in the Valley of the Kings, the great temples of Karnak, the ruins of Thebes plus the Sphinx at Giza. Most travel tourists of Ancient Egypt have thus reckoned that the nation has blossomed and will survive to bear witness to the refinement and beauty of many Egyptian golden ages.

Population

With a total population of 72 million residents, Egypt represents a quarter of the population of the Arab world. Cairo the capital alone has about 16 million people. The country’s population composition however comprises of people of varied backgrounds. Most Egyptians originate from Ancient Egypt and the Nile Valley. Others are of the Arabic and Levantine descents and the Nubians of Upper Egypt.

Culture

Egypt is has a diverse cultural mix as evidenced in every major city. On your Egypt Travel tour to these areas expect to find traditions that are still prevalent dating from the Pharaohs and ancient Egypt. Also in other parts you will encounter original tribal customs that were introduced in by many invaders throughout the centuries. Yet here you will find that the customs and mentality tends to be full of warmth towards visitors and foreigners. Egypt is considered the most attractive country in the region for travelers because of the pure nature of the local Egyptians.

Government

Egypt became a republic on 18 June 1953. President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak has been the President of the Republic since 14 October 1981 and is currently serving his fifth term in office (28 years).

Language

Arabic is the official language used in Egypt. When Arabic is spoken in the streets, it’s like a dialect and differs a great deal from classical Arabic. Although English is also extensively used, people will appreciate you taking time to learn a few words and phrases. Also several other European languages are spoken including German, French, Russian, Spanish and Italian more especially in the holiday resorts of Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada.

Religion

Much as most Egyptians are of the Muslims faith, there are over 12 million Christians living in Egypt today. The two communities benefit from an ethical coexistence.

During the holy season of Ramadan, all Muslims fast during the day. But the evening meal called “Iftar” climaxes in celebration usually spiced up by street activity until late evenings.

Economy

Egypt possesses one of the most developed and diversified economies in the Middle East, with industries such as tourism, agriculture, industry and service at almost equal rates in national production. These have propelled the Egyptian economy significantly, also attributed to the legislation aim of luring more investments, enhancing both internal and political stability, along with recent trade and market liberalization.

Less than one-tenth of the land area of Egypt is under cultivation and it covers the valley and Nile delta, several desert oases, and fertile sections along the Suez Canal.

Climate

Egypt is a country bathed in almost perpetual sunshine the whole year round, characteristic with warm days and cool nights. During the summer months the climate in the inland desert areas can vary widely from 7C at night, to 43C during the day. Temperatures in Egypt especially along the coastal regions such as Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada resorts usually experience an average of 14C during winter and around 30C in the summer. The summer months from May until August will see Egypt undergoing over 12 hours of steady sun heat per day. Rainfall in Egypt is very low with less that 80mm per year and prevailing northern winds can take the edge of the heat.

Best Time to Visit

Peak travel season in Egypt runs from mid October to May, and this is the best time to visit. As you will notice, the tourist season is during winter and spring, but this is also the high season, and prices go up at this time of year. Some hotels can be really expensive, and because of this, I would advise prior reservations for all hotels before you come, even the budget hotels.

Springtime also offers another good time to travel to Egypt. During this time the weather is fairly moderate, but ensure that you avoid The Khamsin wind as this is hit the country between March and April.

Places of Interest

There are so many tourist sites that an adventurous tourist may wish to tour in Egypt. The lengths of your Egypt travel will therefore depend on you’re your interests. Egypt is a travel destination of endless discoveries! That is why it is a un reasonable if you come to Egypt, especially the first timer, and miss the pretentious sites like the Pyramids of Giza, Abu Simbel or the west bank of Luxor and several others. There are so many travellers who fly direct to Upper Egypt to see Luxor and Aswan, hoping that they will be stumble across the Pyramids as well, and then they realize that they have to travel 720Km to Cairo, where the Pyramids actually are.

Egypt Entry Requirements

Egypt travellers can obtain an entry visa at any of the major airports or ports of entry. All foreigners coming to Egypt should possess a valid passport (with at least 6 months before expiry) to get an entry visa. The visas are obtainable from Egyptian Diplomatic and Consular Missions abroad. Visas can also be got from the country’s visa department at the Travel Documents, Immigration and Nationality Administration (TDINA) building at Mogamma.

Air Travel Information If you’re traveling from Europe or North America to Egypt, you’ll likely fly in through Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport. Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport is Egypt’s second Largest Aviation facility after Cairo.
It is the 7th busiest airport in Africa. The airport is situated in Rags Nasrani a city on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, in South Sinai Governorate, Egypt, on the coastal strip between the Red Sea and Mount Sinai. By African standards, it has pretty good facilities.

Sharm el-Sheikh is known as “The City of Peace” referring to the large number of international peace conferences that have been hosted there. Opened on May 14, 1968, the airport was originally an Israeli Air Force base and also served the small settlement of Ofira, before the territory was returned to Egypt following the Camp David Accords. The largest regular aircraft operating into the airport is the Boeing 747-400 by Transaero Airlines from Moscow whilst British Airways will introduce the first regular scheduled Boeing 777-200ER service from October 2009 when it launches services from Gatwick Airports.

2008 flight statistics recorded, the airport handled 7,758,859 passengers (20.8% growth compared to 2007). It is the second busiest airport in Egypt after Cairo International Airport (CAI). The building underwent a complete rejuvenation arrangement in 2004 and has a passenger handling capacity of 2.5 million passengers per year.
It has two domestic and six international gates, all of which exit to remote stands. The terminal comprises three building components: two circular-shaped halls fused together by a wedge-shaped intermediate space dubbed ‘the boat’. ‘The boat’ serves as a passenger transit hub housing passport control, duty free, and VIP areas as well as cafes/restaurants. The halls, in stark textural contrast to the solid mass of ‘the boat’, feature airy, billowing tent-like roofs inspired by the indigenous Bedouin culture.
Sharm el-Sheikh International airport is served by numerous Egypt Flights to Italy, Poland, and the United Kingdom plus several other destinations.

Sharm el-Sheikh – The City of Peace

Sharm el-Sheikh is a city located on the Egyptian Red Sea coast, at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. It lies on the coastal strip between the Red Sea and Mount Sinai with a population of approximately 35,000. Sharm El-Sheikh city has been subdivided into five homogeneous centers namely: Sharm El Maya, Na’ama Bay, Nabq, Umm Sid and Ras Nusrani.

‘The City of Peace’

Sharm el-Sheikh, also known as “City of Peace” in regards to the big number of international peace conferences that have been held there, is the administrative hub of Egypt’s South Sinai Governorate including the minor coastal towns of Nuweiba and Dahab as well as the mountainous interior, St. Catherine’s Monastery and Mt Sinai.

Sharm El Sheikh has acted host to numerous important Middle Eastern peace conferences, including the September 4, 1999 the agreement for the restoration of the Palestinian self governance over the Gaza Strip. A summit was held on August 3, 2005 in this city on developments in the Arab world such as the situation in Iraq and the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Sharm el-Sheikh considers itself and indeed is the seaside resort in Sinai. Several visitors holiday here year in year out. Sharm el-Sheikh Bay, Na’ama Bay and Shark Bay are about 6 km apart but the development of the resort is such that they will soon form one settlement. The long beaches of fine sand already attract visitors and since the small town has grown rapidly, there are more and more tourists enjoying the charms of the place. The small town has grown rapidly and there are more and more tourists enjoying the charms of the place.

Historical Background

Before 1967, Sharm el-Sheikh was little more than an occasional base of operations for local fishermen; the nearest permanent settlement was in Nabk, north of Ras el-Nasrani. Commercial development of the area began during the Israeli presence in the area. The Israelis built the town of Ofira overlooking Sharm el-Maya Bay, and the Nesima area, and opened the first tourist-oriented establishments in the area six kilometers north at Na’ama Bay.

After the Sinai was restored to Egypt in 1982, the Egyptian government embarked on an initiative to encourage continued development of the city. Foreign investors – some of whom had discovered the potential of the locality during the Israeli occupation – contributed to a spate of building projects. Environmental zoning laws currently limit the height of buildings in Sharm el-Sheikh so as to avoid obscuring the natural beauty of the surroundings.

Places of interest and for enjoyment

This is Sharm el-Sheikh, one of the most accessible and developed tourist resort communities on the Sinai Peninsula. Na’ama Beach is one of the centers of the tourist activities. Located just north of Sharm, this area is developing into a resort town of its own. Most hotels at Na’ama Bay have their own, private beaches with comfortable amenities such as chairs, shades and even bars.

Visit the 4th century’s St Catherine’s Monastery, take a safari to the colored Canyons with its beautifully colored rock formations. Sharm El Sheikh is actually a collection of bays and coves – including Na’ama Bay, Sharks Bay, Tiger Bay and Garden Bay. Na’ama Bay is the main entertainment hub. In the evening the promenade comes alive as holidaymakers enjoy the bar, restaurants and nightclubs. With all this, it is almost impossible for a visitor to ever suffer from boredom.

Family and sporting attractions;

Visitors love to lie and roast in the sun but beware of too much exposure, as it is very fierce. They also love to swim in the extraordinarily clear waters and to hire windsurfing boards, ideal for making the most of the ever-present breeze. The seabed close to the coast is like some gigantic coral aquarium, home to coral grouper (red fish with blue spots), Napoleon wrasse, parrotfish, butterfly fish (always in pairs), map angelfish (blue and yellow), threadfins and scorpion fish with long, elegant fins.

Luxury hotels with swimming pools have flourished along the coast. They offer all the facilities, including plenty of sports and leisure activities, such as Diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing expeditions and a variety of water sports demanded by an international clientele who make for the resort summer and winter. Highly qualified instructors offer an introduction to scuba diving for those wishing to swap the snorkel for a tank. There is an excellent golf course.

Book a Nile cruise holiday and gain a new understanding and insight into Egypt’s spectacular and historic landscape. You can choose to sail on a luxury cruise ship or a more intimate beautifully-crafted boat.

Family Shopping

For those who live to shop, the Sharm El-Sheikh mall provides shops with both foreign and local products, including jewelry, leather goods, clothing, pottery and books. There is plenty of good shopping with tourists’ boutiques selling a wide range of Pharaonic souvenirs, leather goods, jewellery, pottery and beach and diving equipment. It has been said that this is a must visit for all diving enthusiasts. There are many diving sites along the 10 mile beach between Sharm el-Sheikh and Ras Nusrani.

Holiday highlights in Egypt;
Egypt is a fantastic destination for holidaymakers. With year-round sunshine and very hot weather, along with crystal clear waters and beautiful sights, there’s no surprise so many people are visiting the area. Book one of the luxurious Egypt holidays and discover the breathtaking Pyramids of Giza, dive among coral reefs in the Red Sea’s clear waters, admire the treasure of Tutankhamen and take a romantic cruise down the Nile.
Egypt has been a source of wonder and attraction for 1,000s of years, offering timelessness, contrasts and a rich history of civilizations that can’t fail to inspire. Ruled by Pharaohs, Greeks, Romans and a succession of Islamic dynasties, the landscape is sprinkled by a rich and beautiful mixture of monuments, legacies and masterpieces. From the marvels of Cairo’s pyramids and sphinx and Luxor’s magnificent Nile-side tombs and temples, to the shimmering beaches and colorful coral reefs of the Red Sea at Sharm el Sheik and Hurghada. Mingling with the ancient is the modern, with high-rise towers and top class hotels vying for attention alongside some of the most spectacular sightseeing in the world.
Think holidays in Egypt and you’ll probably imagine blazing sunshine, riotously colored coral reefs and sands softer and whiter than you could ever believe. Oh, and some fascinating days staring at some spectacular 4,000 year old treasures and royal tombs as well. If that’s what you’re thinking, then you’re pretty much right. Holidays to Egypt are mainly about chilling on beautiful beaches, immersing you in the equivalent of an underwater theme park and thrilling at the world’s most eye-popping collection of historic relics.
Cairo is Africa’s largest city and features sprawling markets and the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, housing the treasure of Tutankhamen. Egypt holidays shouldn’t pass by without a visit to the magnificent Sphinx and monumental Pyramids of Giza.
There are the magical, mystifying tombs of the pharaohs and mighty temples of the Nile Valley. Then as if deliberately organized by nature for your convenience comes the perfect contrast – the beaches of the Red Sea. Most notable are the idyllic sands and amazing diving on offer at profligate Sharm el Sheikh, the crystal-clear waters of vigorous Hurghada, the family-oriented charms of Makadi Bay or even the luxurious seclusion of Taba.
When it comes to choosing a base, they’re all well worth chewing over, whether you’re considering a last-minute bargain holiday to Egypt, an all inclusive holiday or just a classic sun-soaked summer holiday.
Holiday on the Red Sea and enjoy the dazzling underwater world during a diving experience. With many of Egypt’s most important sites clustered around the Nile, a Nile cruise is a fantastic way to visit Egypt.
Sharm El Sheikh;
one of the very best dive destinations in the world, guaranteed sunshine, superb value for money and year round clear waters make the Red Sea a popular choice for holidays to Egypt.

Book a Nile cruise holiday and gain a new understanding and insight into Egypt’s spectacular and historic landscape. You can choose to sail on a luxury cruise ship or a more intimate beautifully-crafted boat.

Welcome to our section of Cairo Travel where you get to DISCOVER CAIRO, a charming city full of amusement and ancient discoveries. We take you though the city’s highlights and attractions.

Cairo is the capital city of Egypt and is by far the largest urban town in the Arab World. Also referred to as “The City of a Thousand Minarets” for its majority of Islamic architecture, high association with Ancient Egypt due to its proximity to the Great Sphinx and the Pyramids in nearby Giza, Cairo has long been a center of the region’s political and cultural life.. It is the administrative capital of Egypt.

The Egyptian capital positioned in the heart of the largest metropolitan area in Africa, stretches out along both banks of the Nile. With an avid craving for space, the largest city on the African continent and11th largest urban town in the Arab world makes daily inroads into desert sands and farmlands. The city is home to several international media, businesses, and organizations; the Arab League has also been based in Cairo for most of its existence.

Cairo, “City of a thousand minarets”, is not considered by Muslims to be as holy a city as Mecca, Medina or Jerusalem. Its streets and alleyways do however conceal treasures of Islamic art, many of which, although crumbling, offer a dazzling sight to anyone who knows how and where to look. Admission to Islamic monuments is not free. Visitors should also be aware of the need to dress appropriately – shorts and vest tops are not acceptable – and to cover the head in all mosques

Population

With a population of 6.75 million spread over 214 sq km, plus an additional ten million residents just on the skirt the city. This is happening at such a rate that no one knows for certain whether Cairo’s population has reached ten, fifteen or perhaps even twenty million.

Like many large cities in developing countries, the city also suffers from high levels of pollution and traffic, but its metro – currently the only on the African continent – also ranks among the fifteen busiest in the world, with over 700 million passenger rides annually.

Egypt has a host of varied attractions to discover and explore. The North African country is easily accessible from Britain. An Egypt-destined flight from Europe requires roughly 5 hours getting you in the middle of a completely different culture. Flights to Egypt take you to the land of the Sphinx, the Pyramids, the Nile and so much more. From the prosperous market city of Aswan, to ancient Luxor, every part of Egypt has something to offer even the most jaded of travelers.

Egypt is a state proud of its ancient civilization which gives it one of the richest histories in the world like one traveler once said, “Pick one of the several literatures about the Pharaohs and read on your flight to Egypt and get immersed in a culture that dates back more than 4,500 years.”

Best Time to Fly to Egypt

Cheap flights to Egypt become more available at times when the weather is less appealing; this tends to be during the summer months of June to August when temperatures soar and tempers fray, especially in dusty, noisy Cairo. A cheap flight right now is a bargain if you just want to enjoy slowly roasting on a coastal Egyptian beach, but many people prefer to visit during the cool season.

Because the heat of the summer can be unbearable, the peak season for travel to Egypt is between October and May. This time is especially appealing to most European travelers as they can easily get onto a short flight to Egypt and escape the harsh winter months of their own country. The other advantage of visiting during this time is the increased peace and quiet existing at major tourist sites. The month of Ramadan is usually less popular with Western visitors because restaurants close down for the month.

If your Egypt schedule flights are adjustable, you can browse our Egypt Flights directory to find the most suitable flight to the land of Pyramids. For the adventurous traveller, you can also search on Egypt travel for a comprehensive fast guide.

Popular Domestic flight destinations

Flights to Cairo (CAI)

Flights to Aswan Daraw (ASW)

Flights to Luxor (LXR)

Flights to Hurghada (HRG)

Flights to Mersa Matruh (MUH)

Flights to Sharm El Sheikh (SSH)

Airlines to Egypt

Egypt Air is one of the pioneer airlines in the world. It operates more than 400 weekly flights departing from Cairo and numerous Egyptian cities to 84 international & domestic destinations all over the world.

Others include Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, Etihad, Lufthansa, Emirates, South African Airways and British Airways.

The country also has a few airlines offering direct flights for instance South African Airlines offers direct Johannesburg flights to Egypt. Otherwise there are linking flights available through cities of London Heathrow, Dubai and Harare, all depending on who you fly with.

Helpful Flight Information for you

Your flight ticket you acquire is a contract you have with the airline, so you are accountable if broken.

The fare in this ticket is subject to change prior to commencement of travel.

For your comfort especially during long flights, we advise you to:

It is recommended you put on loose comfortable clothes because of the weather. Drink plenty of water and fluids.

Alcoholic Beverages are forbidden.

Pack appropriate medicine in case of poor travel experience.

Egypt is in north eastern Africa and is connected to Asia via the Sinai Peninsula and has extensive coastlines both on the Mediterranean and on the Red Sea. Cairo is the country’s capital and largest city and is the place to come to, to see the Pyramids of Giza.

Egypt, as always mentioned is a darling for people wishing to visit and discover its ancient architecture. The country’s ancient civilization gives it one of the richest histories in the world – get one of the several known literature about the Pharaohs and read on your flight to Egypt and become acquainted with a culture that dates back more than 4500 years.

The Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) is the biggest pyramid and the only remaining one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the world constructed of over 2 million giant blocks of stone. The smaller pyramid is the Pyramid of Khafre (Chephren) and smaller still is the Pyramid of Menkaure (Mycerinus). Also here is the spectacular Sphinx and Temple of the Sphinx.

Climbing these pyramids was at one time a very popular thing to do but now banned as it very dangerous. At present Camel rides are quite more popular around the pyramids, though overrated. Much as it can be claustrophobic and hot, going inside the pyramid is very interesting as one traveler said “A visit to this land of the ancient Pharaohs is one of those trips of a lifetime.”

The country is mostly all desert and thus is very hot and dry throughout the summer with irregular exceptional mild winters. Rainfall is extremely low throughout the year so you don’t need to worry about getting wet.

In the summer the Red Sea Coast hits temperatures of up to 43C (109F), whilst elsewhere they go between 27C (80F) and 32C (90F). The best months to visit are between November and March when the weather is bearably tour-friendly.
