The Kingdom of Lesotho is divided into ten districts, each headed by a district administrator. Each district has a capital known as a camptown. The districts are further subdivided into 80 constituencies, which consist of 129 local community councils. Most of the districts are named after their capitals.

Berea district covers an area of 2,222 sq km and a population in 2006 of approximately 256,496. Teyateyaneng is the capital of the district. It’s comprised of 11 constituents.
Butha-Buthe District
Butha-Buthe district covers an area of 1,767 sq km and a population in 2006 of approximately 109,529. Butha-Buthe is the capital. It’s comprised of 5 constituents.
Leribè District

Mafeteng District

Mohale’s Hoek District
Mohale’s Hoek district covers an area of 3,530 sq km and a population in 2006 of approximately 174,924. It lies in the South-Western part of the country and Mohale’s Hoek is the capital city. It’s comprised of 8 constituents.
Mokhotlong District
Mokhotlong district covers an area of 4,075 sq km and a population in 2006 of approximately 96,340. It is one of the poorest and most remote areas of Lesotho. Qacha’s Nek District
Qacha’s Nek district covers an area of 2,349 sq km and a population in 2006 of approximately 71,876. Qacha’s Nek is the capital. It lies in the East of the country and it’s comprised of 3 constituents.
Quthing District
Quthing district covers an area of 2,916 sq km and a population in 2006 of approximately 120,502. Quthing, also known as Moyeni, is the capital of the district. It lies in the south of the country and it’s comprised of 5 constituents.
Thaba-Tseka District
Thaba-Tseka district covers an area of 4,270 sq km and a population in 2006 of approximately 129,137. Thaba-Tseka is also the name of the district’s capital. It lies in the Central-East of the country and it’s comprised of 5 constituents.
