Morocco Beaches

The natural beauty of the Morocco beaches is definitely worth a vacation. You can sit back and relax at one of the more popular, tourist laden beaches or you can make your way out to a stretch that is somewhat more deserted and quieter. The choice of where you choose to find sand between your toes is up to you.

Enjoy the sand between your toes and the warm Moroccan breeze through your hair. Morocco has plenty beaches where you can work on your tan or take a long walk.

The sea provides a large amount of income for Morocco – whether through tourism, fishing or shipping. Many colorful cities are based on the beautiful coast. You could also take up windsurfing or simply have a refreshing swim in the sea.

Casablanca has the biggest number of beaches Located on the Atlantic coastline. These long sandy beaches of Casablanca are dotted with resorts and hotels and majority of them beaches are geared up for tourist trade and offer a range of water sports and other facilities.

POPULAR MOROCCO BEACHES

Tangier Town Beach – this is located where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic Ocean in northern Morocco. It is a beautiful beach surrounded by mountains and the white washed houses of Tangier. Much as it’s not very clean, it is still very popular.

DakhlaThis beach is located on the Western Sahara Atlantic coast and it’s widely occupied by fisherman. It has a good photographic view with a lot of attractive scenery and colorful wooden fishermen boats. However its waters are not suitable for bathing or sun tanning.

Plage QuemadaLocated in the center of the Rif Mountains on the Mediterranean coastline in the north of Morocco, Plage Quemada beach has a reputation for always being busy and crowded. It is very clean.

Asfiha Beach- It is also located in the center of the Rif Mountains on the Mediterranean coastline in the north of Morocco. However, Asfiha beach has very shallow waters (about 1m) with dirty and sticky sand, hence not recommended for swimming or beach walks.

Grottes d’Hercules- this beach located on the Atlantic Coast of Tangier at Grottes d’Hercules is generally clean and pleasurable. It is most busy during the holiday months of July and August. Its major drawback is that its water is distinctly colder than the Mediterranean beaches of Tangier.

El Jadida –it is located on the Atlantic coast about 110 miles north of Marrakech.

This beach is close to town, clean and pleasant.

Lalla Fatma; This beach located about 10km north of Safi on the Atlantic coast is the cleanest and most popular beach in Morocco. Tourists enjoy its sand, sun tanning and the tranquility. However, its waters are not very safe for swimming.

Larache; This is very clean, popular, friendly and wonderful beach for swimming even though the waves can be a bit dangerous. There are lifeguards on duty all day. It’s located in the Tanger-Tetouan region.

Agadir – Located on the Atlantic coast in southwest Morocco

A number of the beach-side hotels have sections of the beach exclusively for the use of their guests, but there are still plenty of long sandy beaches for locals and tourists alike.
