Namibia Holidays

Welcome to Namibia, one of Africa’s luxury premier holiday destinations, a place of quiet, uncluttered splendor and one of the world’s last remaining unspoiled areas. A feature-filled Namibia holiday is a favourite luxury tour for southern African families because it includes sunrise on top of the world’s highest dunes; a day relaxing in a hot mineral spring, at the bottom of the world’s second deepest canyon; a wildlife safari watching lion stalk huge herds of antelope – and an evening observing wild black rhino by moonlight.

You will of course need to start your Namibia holiday trip to Windhoek – the capital city: a start and end point for many holidays and Vacation tours in Namibia. No big deal in attractions here, but a pleasant city with a choice of good, individual hotels and guest houses.

With its idyllic location right on the sandy beach, Lüderitz Beach Resort encompasses a 250-hectare site including an 18-hole golf course designed by Gary Player, a 7km stretch of beach, luxury boutiques, several restaurants, a casino, a nightclub, a spa and one of the largest conference centres in the region.

  • Namib-Naukluft National ParkThe area for Namibia’s ‘classic’ desert scenery – huge curving, apricot dunes standing on dust-dry silvery pans! Come for adventurous walking and hiking in the mountains and desert, as well as the show-stopping scenery.

  • Waterberg Plateau National Park - a large plateau in the Central Highlands with a national park. This place is excellent for scenic hiking trips, come here for laid-back holidays.
  • Swakopmund & Walvis Bay – Swakopmund is a prominent hub for various adrenaline sports, and some great excursions into the coastal area of the Namib Desert.
  • Skeleton Coast & KaokolandThis is Namibia’s most remote. It’s a vast, coastal wilderness of the Skeleton Coast and the rugged mountains of semi-desert Kaokoland.
  • Caprivi Strip – Caprivi Strip isn’t usually top of the list for a Namibia holiday, but for a classic African safari – it’s perfect! You may also wish to combine it with a visit to Victoria Falls.

Birding in Namibia is amazing! (Home to over 620 bird species). While the majority of these occur in the water-rich north-eastern regions of Kavango and Caprivi, a considerable number are found in the desert such as Dune lark and Hartlaub’s francolin. Your birding tour at the coast particularly at Walvis Bay Lagoon is a rewarding experience.

Holiday accommodation in Namibia is very rich in diversity, ranging from one- to four-star hotels, pensions, guest-farms, lodges, restaurants, rest camps, Bed & Breakfasts and Self-catering establishments. Therefore do not be submerged in where to stay worries here.
