Skeleton Coast National Park
gazzetted in 1973 is one of the natural wonders of Namibia. It stretches over an area of 16,000 sq km and much of its area is in the Ugab River to the Kunene regions. When to Go
The weather in Skeleton Coast is awfully unpredictable. The coast experiences 9 months of early morning fog every year which stretches for up to 30km inland and these damp and grey conditions often result in cool temperatures which endure for almost the whole day. This band of mist on one hand affects visibility does but on the other hand ecologically beneficial by providing water for the survival of the desert flora and fauna which includes over 80 species.
