Dakar Airport
Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport is an international air facility in Dakar, Senegal. This is the most important airport in Senegal, and can handle aircraft up to the size of the Boeing 747 jets. It used to be one of the five main hubs of the now defunct multi-national airline, Air Afrique. The airport was renamed (from Dakar-Yoff) to Léopold Sédar Senghor, a popular poet who served as president of Senegal between 1960 and 1980, and died in 2001.
