Londolozi Private Game Reserve
Londolozi Private Game Reserve is a wildlife sanctuary located on the Sand River, in the heart of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, in Mpumalanga, South Africa. It is nestled on the western border of the Kruger National Park. Londolozi is a predator’s paradise privately owned by the Varty family of two brothers; John and Dave Varty whose profound love and contribution towards nature and wildlife preservation is globally illustrious.


Londolozi is a perfect destination for the adventurous South Africa travelers and was one of the original private game reserves in Sabi Sands. The reserve is equally renowned for its adventurous game drives. It is a game-rich wildlife sanctuary where during game viewing activities tourists have guaranteed chance to spot the African big five including giraffe, buffalo, impala, kudu, and lion.
It is also an excellent bird watching destination. Over 40 species of raptors have been recorded here. The hooded vulture, secretary bird, African fish eagle, bateleu, brown snake eagle, dark chanting goshawk and the giant eagle owl are some of the most prominent species.
Where to Stay
Londolozi Game Reserve boasts four artistically well decorated intimate safari camps; each with chalets and tranquil en-suites, private pitch pools and wooden decks overlooking the soothing Sand River. All the luxurious en-suite bathrooms of the camps are well placed offering panoramic views of the surrounding bush. They serve early morning bush breakfasts and delicious Pan African cuisine.

Londolozi Varty Camp
Londolozi-Varty Camp – the camp has magnificent views over the Sand River. The camp has a cultural museum, souvenir shop, well-stocked wine bar, private swimming pool and a full-day operating internet access centre. All chalets are air-conditioned and have a plunge pool.

preferred of the Londolozi Game lodges because of the spectacular view of the Sand River it offers. It has a lounge area with library. The main area leads out onto a large wooden deck, raised on stilts and elevated over the river. The suites feature private decks, plunge pools and outdoor showers.
- Londolozi-Pioneer Camp – Pioneer Camp is the most secluded of all the luxury Londolozi camps. It is located upstream from Founders Camp for a more ultimate relaxation. It comprises of 6 rooms (3 chalets and 3 suites) all air-conditioned, fitted with en-suite bathrooms.

- Londolozi-Founders Camp has an eating area enclosed in reeds next to the swimming pool, enabling the camp occupants have a beautiful setting for relaxing and having meals, with views of the riverine forest. You can enjoy a romantic moonlit bush dinner around the pool. All accommodation is air-conditioned with plunge pools and wooden decks.

The reserve offers various activities including bush walks and night game drives; adventure tracking; all day walking expeditions; overnight bush sleep outs; and fishing in the Sand River.
