Port Elizabeth City Guide

Welcome to PE – “the friendly city”

Port Elizabeth is the fifth largest and one of the liveliest and most proud cities of South Africa. PE as it’s fondly branded boasts a wealthy socio-economic, cultural and geographical setting not very common in most African cities. The city neighbours the Sunshine Coast, the coastal route between St Francis Bay and East London Countless high-rise buildings, several traffic lights, with well-planned roads and a wide variety of car types and models dominate the city. Uitenhage is the most prominent industrial town in PE.
PE’s pride is evident with its amazing shopping complexes, flea markets, gigantic restaurants and several entertaining spots on offer. It has always been a family destination, so there are activities for both young and old.
The city is worth visiting for buzzes with splendid attractions including the famous Addo Elephant National Park, the cultural hub of Graham’s town and celebrated Jeffrey’s Bay, famous for its impressive scenery and surfing. Closer to Port Elizabeth is the Sea view Game & Lion Park and the Kragga Kamma Game Park. There are also common day trails along the circular route to the Swartkops Valley Nature Reserve.
The Port Elizabeth city is a nature lover’s paradise, so don’t miss the boat cruises, diving opportunities, a visit to Sea view Game & Lion Park and an excursion to Bayworld, which incorporates an oceanarium museum and snake park.
Life generally revolves around the waters. The beautiful coastal terrain punctuated with long stretches of white immaculate beaches such as Humewood beach make the PE a prime leisure destination above other South Africa cities. Humewood beach recently attained the Blue Flag status making it a world-class beach venue. A vacation tour here is an experiencing a revival of sorts.
