South Africa Weather and South Africa Climate – General Overview of Climate and Weather Conditions in South Africa; The best time to travel
South Africa
generally experiences temperate climatic conditions. This is due in part to its strategic location surrounded by the Atlantic and Indian Oceans on three sides. Much as the country is classified as semi-arid, there is significant variation in climate due to its diverse geography and oceanic influence. Climatic zones range from extreme desert of the southern Namib in the farthest northwest to the lush subtropical climate in the east along the Mozambique border and the Indian Ocean. Sutherland in the western Roggeveld Mountains is coldest in South Africa, where midwinter temperatures get as low as −15 °C.

The temperatures are cooler.
