Kasubi Royal Tombs, Kampala; Located on Kasubi hill 5 km from the city canter, the Kasubi Royal Tombs site is an active cultural place in the Kingdom of Buganda. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the tombs is the site of the burial grounds for four Kabakas (Kings of Buganda). This dome-like overall shape is a place of great significance in the traditions of the Baganda. They pay a lot of respect and allegiance to the place. Several cultural centuries-old Ganda rituals are preformed at this site. It houses many cultural and historical treasures of the Buganda Kingdom. It is worth every tour once in the country.

Spectacular and spiritual Ssezibwa Falls have a special status to the Baganda. It has long been a favourite of the kings of Buganda. The falls are located in Mukono district, at the border of Bugerere and Kyagwe kingdom parishes in the Eastern region of the Kingdom. They have a lot of spiritual significance. Formers Kings Mwanga and Mutesa II are said to have tied twins in this place. Aside from the cultural importance, the Ssezibwa waterfalls are a prefect destination for rock climbing, waterfalls watching, birding, cultural dances and healing.

Located on the Hoima-Masindi road, Mparo tombs is a burial place for the Bunyoro kingdom in western Uganda. Omukama (King’s Title) Kabalega’s grave one of the outstanding past leaders of the kingdom is found here and is surrounded by many personal effects.
This is located in Mubende District of Uganda and features large earthwork built by the Bachwezi and related kingdoms.

Namugongo Martyrs Shrine

Namugongo Martyrs Shrine is another historical attraction in Uganda. This is the site where 22 Christian catholic converts were executed on the orders of Kabaka Mwanga II in 1886. Touristic shrines have been built there by both the Roman Catholic Church and Church of Uganda and Christians pilgrimage to this place every year. The victims were canonised in 1969.
Baker’s Fort, Patiko

Baker’s fort is located in Patiko sub-county 32 km north of Gulu town. It was founded by the Baker, an early explorer in Uganda. This impressive stone structure is a legacy to Baker’s anti-slavery work in the area.
Nnamasole Baagalayaze Tombs
Nnamasole Baagalayaze Tombs lie about 25 minutes drive from Kampala along Gayaza road within 1 km off the tarmac road at Mpererwe trading centre. The former palace of Nnamasole Baagalayaze today draws tourists from across the globe for its breathtaking architectural heritage dating back in the times of the mother of Kabaka Mwanga II in 1916. The site was one of the targets during the mayhem of the abolition of traditional institutions in the country government soldiers. Currently, Nnamasole Baagalayaze Tombs is a cultural centre that celebrates the people and history of Buganda (Tell a story of repression and revival). Visitors can enjoy traditional performances, try their hand at arts and crafts, and hear vivid stories about the history of the Kingdom and its past Kings.
Amabere ga Nyina Mwiru Caves

Situated10km from Fort Portal business centre, the “Amabere ga Nyina Mwiru” is limestone site with an incredible legendary narrative behind their existence. The myth surrounding the caves are that they were named after Nyinamwiru a daughter of Bukuku one of the ancient rulers of the Batembuzi Dynasty of the current Babito Kings of Toro and Bunyoro Kingdoms. She was a proud striking girl who went against her father’s proposed man for marriage. As a result she was punished by cutting off her breasts which later are assumed to have grown into these scenic rocks with a dripping white liquid assumed to be breast milk.
