Uganda Holiday Adventures

Uganda may appear a small country, but it is a concentrated and vibrant  destination for an adventurous holiday. Guide for Africa welcome you and takes you to the country’s to the most fascinating tourist spots as well as offering you  some of the most stimulating activities for your adventure holiday in Uganda.

Start your adventurous holiday in Kampala and travel to Budongo Forest Reserve near Masindi and from there to Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and Lake Mburo National Park. Extend your holiday for a further 7 days to include Mount Elgon National Park and the Pian-Upe Game Reserve.

It has well over 1000 bird species alone. Uganda is strategically positioned at the center of an oyster, and sits at the centre of most of the major biogeographically zones of Africa –this means the tropical rainforest, savannah, semi-desert, massive swamps, lakes and rivers like the Nile. The country takes a lot of pride in its variety of birds and mammals. There is a well established network of local bird watching by guide across the nation- both within and outside of the Uganda Wildlife Authority’s national park system.

Wildlife Diversity in Uganda

So what will you see? Over 540 different species of birds and 66 different mammals are in viewable sites. Where else in the world can you see this much in one country while you still chance to engage in some “responsible” drinking of the several local beers?

Mountain Gorillas & others Primates

Of course the mountain gorillas are near or at the pinnacle of anyone’s “must see” list in terms of world wildlife. A great number of chimps but obviously less exciting than the gorillas are also present. Also present are the commoner Lions, elephants (both bush elephants and forest elephants), buffalos, hyenas etc. Enjoy your water tour by taking a boat trip along the Victoria Nile to Murchison Falls where you get to see bulk amounts of hippos.
Mammals are becoming quite abundant in the bigger Parks like Lake Mburo, Queen Elizabeth, Murchison, and Kabale. At Lake Mburo you get to see 10 different groups of large mammals gathered together at one point whist on foot.

The bird list for Uganda makes dedicated bird watchers who haven’t been there rush to the liquor cabinet. Once on birding safaris in Uganda, you view grey parrots regularly, and a flock of several hundred crested cranes. The highlights are too ambiguous to enlist.

You will not know about the scenery until you arrive for a vacation. Murchison Falls is much more spectacular than the image on the postcards, the shores of Lake Victoria are not forgettable at first cite.

The biggest surprise any traveler to the Pearl of Africa is the nature of the Ugandan people. Their genuine warm welcome to strangers makes a home away from home. Now what are you waiting for to explore this to joy.

Enjoy your adventure holiday in Uganda.
