Uganda Flights

Kampala is the largest city and capital of Uganda. The city is divided into 5 political divisions that oversee local administration; the Central, Kawempe, Makindye, Nakawa and Rubaga. Entebbe International Airport (EBB) is the principal International Airport. It is located in the municipality of Entebbe near the town, on the shores of Lake Victoria about 35 km from the capital. Operations and management of the Airport is under the Civil Aviation Authority also located at the airport. Direct flights to and from Johannesburg run three days a week. There are also direct flights to and from London every other day. Emirates offer cheap flights from Entebbe, Uganda’s main international airport, to Dubai via Nairobi and Addis Ababa with onward connections to Europe, N. America, and Asia. Kenya Airways and KLM fly daily from Entebbe to Amsterdam either via Nairobi or direct. There are also cheap flights to Uganda available from Rwanda and Tanzania. The Airport is linked to all major cities in the world for both passenger and cargo handling services. Uganda Airline Services include British Airways, Sabena World Airlines, Kenya airways, Air Tanzania, Ethiopian Airlines, Egypt Air, East African Airways, The Emirates.. A domestic terminal in late 2007 was constructed at the site of the old airport, leaving the “new airport” to handle International flights exclusively. The current passenger terminal building was constructed in the mid to late 1970′s. 2007 statistics show that Entebbe Airport handled 720,000 International passengers. Entebbe airport uses the jet way system.

The best time to get cheap flights to Uganda is a matter of timing. December to February is the hottest period, with cooler temperatures in the mountains. June to September is equally good, and may offer better chances of cheap flights to Uganda. March to May and October to November are best avoided as they are the rainy seasons in the south.
