Tips To Help You Save Time And Money In Zimbabwe; Open Source Travel Guide To Zimbabwe, Featuring Up-To-Date Information On Weather, Zimbabwe Public Holidays; Currency Matters; Free And Reliable Advice on Zimbabwe Travel
Zimbabwe is a landlocked country located in the southern part of the African continent, between the Zambezi River and Limpopo River. It is bordered by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the southwest, Zambia and a tip of Namibia to the northwest and Mozambique to the east.
There is much for you to discover in Zimbabwe. The country offers an amazing range of travel experiences in sights, tastes, and outlook. Zimbabweans are warm and friendly people.
Officially:
The Republic of Zimbabwe
Population:
12,521,000
Zimbabwe Money Tip
1 Zimbabwe Dollar = 100 cents. You may take 15000 Zimbabwean dollars out of the country. There are no restrictions on foreign currency brought in. If you don’t declare the foreign money you bring in, you’ll only be able to take out 500 US dollars. You may be asked to account for foreign currency exchanged/spent in country. Hotel bills must be paid for with credit cards or in foreign hard currencies e.g. US dollar. Avoid dealing with street money changers who promise “no commission, best rates”, for currency exchange.
Weather in Zimbabwe & When to go:
Zimbabwe features a tropical inland climate evenly punctuated by wet and dry seasons. The best time to travel to Zimbabwe is the drier and less humid winter months between May, June, July, August, September and October. During these months temperatures float agreeably between 13º and 20 ºC, although they can drop to below-freezing levels during night time.
Health:
Yellow fever immunisation is essential if you arrive from an infected country or area. Visitors are also advised to take pre-arrival precautions against hepatitis A, polio, typhoid and malaria. Other health concerns include bilharzias, sunburn, limited medical facilities and supplies outside of towns, AIDS and influenza.
Language:
Zimbabwe has three official languages: English, Ndebele and Shona.
Where to Go Shopping:
Shopping
When shopping and dining out make sure you know what taxes will be imposed. While you are shopping it is important to note that there is a thirteen percent sales tax on purchases, and this can be calculated into the price you pay or added to this amount. Before deciding whether to buy, determine whether the sales tax is included, and do not be afraid to negotiate. In restaurants and bars there is an added ten percent tax on top of your total price. Tipping is optional but appreciated. Shona soft-stone carvings; woodcarvings; T-shirts; safari clothing; pottery; leather goods; basket ware; sculptures; textiles.
Personal Safety
One Zimbabwe travel tip is to watch out for teamwork among thieves. One common technique is for one person to bump into you while another is stealing your money and valuables. If you get a flat tire do not leave your vehicle unmonitored while you change the tire. Another common tactic is for one person to distract you and help with the tire change, while an accomplice is emptying your vehicle of everything that has any value at all.
What to Packing
Make sure that you pack properly for Zimbabwe holidays. Light clothing and natural fabrics are a must, but you will also need a light jacket or sweater for when it is rainy or when the nights turn cool. If you will be exploring the forested areas then boots, jeans, and a long- sleeved shirt should be included in your packing list.
Other Useful Zimbabwe Travel Tips
1. Zimbabwe travel can be exciting, but it is important to stay safe and protect your belongings while you are abroad. Instead of carrying a purse or wallet you should use a fanny pack or money belt which fits securely around the waist. This will prevent any pickpockets from taking your money and important documents. You should also leave any valuable or precious jewellery at home, or at least locked in the hotel safe if you must bring these items with you. Never leave money or valuables in your room while you are gone.
2. Use common safety precautions. While Zimbabwe does not have a lot of violent crime this activity can occur anywhere and in any country. Only use well-lit parking lots and ATM machines, and do not exchange currency out on the street where anyone can see you do so. Never carry more currency than you will need for the day. When driving, it is plausible that your car doors are locked and windows rolled up, and never roll down your window while stopped at a traffic light even if someone is trying to get your attention or talk to you.
3. Instead of carrying around your original passport and other important documents take a copy of them, and leave the originals locked in the safe at your hotel. This tip while planning Zimbabwe vacations can help you prevent a nightmare of delays and bureaucracy if you do have your wallet or luggage grabbed.

Zimbabwe weather guide, An Overview to the Weather and Climate Information for Zimbabwe; Best Times To Visit, Weather, Travel Tips, Required Clothing For Travelling To Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe features a tropical inland climate evenly punctuated by wet and dry seasons. The reason for this is the fact that most of the country is a fairly high plateau with an average altitude of about 1479 m.
Rainy Season in Zimbabwe
In Zimbabwe, the rains come principally in December, January, February and March; the further north you are, the earlier the precipitation arrives and the later it leaves. Zimbabwe’s higher eastern areas usually receive more rainfall than the lower-lying western ones. The rainy season lasts from November to March with some thunderstorms occurring especially in the late afternoons. January is the wettest month in Zimbabwe (213 mm). By May most of the rain is gone, leaving a luxuriant site. Night-time temperatures begin to drop particularly in the southerly and higher regions. Common rainy season problems in Zimbabwe include Temporary interruption in flights, outdoor activities are limited, Local transportation is less comfortable because most roads become impassable.
Dry Season in Zimbabwe
The dry season in Zimbabwe stretches from May to early October. The month with the driest weather is July. This period is extremely hot and dry with temperatures averaging between 30-40°C during the day. It can get extremely hot, with no relief of rain. However, it offers the most perfect time of game viewing in the country as well as fishing in Lake Kariba and in the Zambezi River valley. Game viewing becomes more spectacular towards August when the grass and bush is nearly exhausted.
Temperature in Zimbabwe
The average temperature in Zimbabwe is 18.6 °C (66 °F) while the monthly average temperature is 8 °C. Maximum temperature may rise up to 29 °C (84 °F) in October; whereas it can fall to as low as 7 °C (45 °F) in June and July.
The summer temperatures (September to October) on the plateau hover around the mid-twenties (centigrade) and rarely go above 30 ºC in the Zambezi Valley. Night temperatures in the winter can fall below freezing point. During this time, you’ll see some fantastic game, as the Zimbabwe’s wildlife congregates around waterholes and make easy viewing.
November is unpredictable; it can be hot and dry, it can also see the season’s first rainfalls – and in this respect it’s a very interesting month, as on successive days, you can see both weather patterns.
The Best Times to Travel in Zimbabwe
The best time to travel is the drier and less humid winter months between May, June, July, August, September and October. During these months temperatures float agreeably between 13º and 20 ºC, although they can drop to below-freezing levels during night time.
In Zimbabwe, the months of June, July and August have extremely cold nights, so don’t forget to bring some warmer clothes, if you are to spend a night outside or camping. During the day, the sky is clear and it is warm.
Important to note for travelers on vacation in Zimbabwe is the weather patterns are today more unpredictable, possibly due to global warming; unexpected weather conditions are no longer a rarity.

Mtarazi Falls National Park is a tiny national park nestled on the southern border of Nyanga National Park within the Valley Honde in the north-eastern parts of Zimbabwe. The Park’s safari highlight and most significant attraction is the Mtarazi Falls – the second highest waterfall in Africa, and the 6th in the world with a 762m drop. The Mtarazi Falls National Park was also the first area to be gazetted a national park in the country and is jointly administrated with neighbouring Nyanga Park.
Wildlife
Mtarazi Park is not bio-diversely gifted as the neighbouring Nyanga National Park, but there are common sightings of wild animals within the surrounding areas including some members of the African Big Five such as buffalos, lions, and leopards. Others spotted include kudus, reedbucks, klipspringers and antelopes. The wildlife enthusiasts treasure this locale particularly its incredible numbers of the blue duiker and monkeys.
Mtarazi Falls is one perfect spot to go for bird watching in Zimbabwe. Some of the popular birds spotted are the Chirinda Apalis, Orange Ground thrush, Starred Robin, Red-Faced Crimsonwing, Striped Cheeked Bulbul, etc.

The Mtarazi Falls
Impressive Mtarazi Falls is a 762m high and 15m wide grand waterfall scenically nestled on the Mtarazi River within the lush Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe. River Mtarazi meanders along a plateau and makes a double leap down a sheer rock face into a forested valley.
This beautiful double tiered granite waterfall overlooks the imposing Honde Valley boasting the most amazing displays of water-sprays. The Mtarazi waterfalls are not only massive and powerful but rather exceptional one as most waterfalls are comprised of a single tier. The falls are elegantly paired with an upper and lower tier. Its upper tier is almost hidden from the viewpoint on the edge of the plateau, but is clearly visible from the valley floor whereas the lower tier is the main focal point. The Mtarazi Falls even more magnificent when flooded.
The natural splendor of the falls is enhanced by the surrounding areas characterized by open plains with an abundance of bushes and shrubs. The areas offer one of the best adventure destinations in Zimbabwe as tourists get the opportunity to explore the adjacent forests at the same time relax in nearby base area as they watch over the gushing water plummet onto the rocks.

The Zambezi River is the 4th largest river system in Africa after the Nile, Zaire and Niger Rivers. It stretches over 3,540km and traces a course flow from north-western Zambia through Angola, runs along the borders of Namibia and Botswana, re-enters Zambia, then makes its way through Zimbabwe and finally to Mozambique to empty into the India Ocean,1600miles from its source.
The river divides up into three sections; the Lower Zambezi, middle Zambezi; and the Upper Zambezi; and changes at different spots along it going from a placid flow in sandy plains to annually flooded plains to a tumbling river of falls and rapids. Conceivably, the most stunning spot along the river is in Zimbabwe at Victoria Falls.
River Zambezi is also one of the most heavily dammed rivers in Africa, with at least 30 large storage reservoirs holding back its flow. Four of the world’s largest hydroelectric dams at Kariba, Itezhi-Tezhi, Kafue and Cahora Bassa are situated on the Zambezi.
Dubbed Southern Africa’s “River of Life”, the Zambezi River supports millions of people, who make use of its rich fisheries, forests, water, and rich floodplain soils.

Zambezi River on the Map
Climate / Seasons
The ebbs and flows of River Zambezi depend on climate / season. The climate along the river is predominantly tropical with characteristic heavy rains intensifying from October through to April. During seasons of prolonged rains, the river swells up and bursts its banks de-settling several settlers along its banks. The peak of the dry season is also not best because the falls are at their dullest during this time. The best time to tour the falls is during the dry winter season between July and August.
Wildlife
The Zambezi River is a great habitat for an amazing array of wildlife. A number of national parks and reserves are located all along the Zambezi and offering some of the best Africa safaris. They include Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia; Victoria Falls National Park, Zimbabwe & Zambia; Mana Pools National Park, Zimbabwe; and the Wide Horizons Elephant Camp. Hippos, crocodiles, baboons, elephants, hyenas and lions are frequent sightings.
Bird Life along the Zambezi
Several water bird species that frequent the Zambezi include pelicans, egrets herons and African fish eagles.
Victoria Falls
The most spectacular feature along the Zambezi is the magnificent Victoria Falls. Known locally as “Mosi-oa-Tunya” (the smoke that thunders), the Victoria Falls is the largest water fall in the world and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world. The deafening roar of the falls as millions of liters of water cascade down its rocky cliff can be heard from metres away. Around the rainy season, the blanket of mist gets so thick that it makes it impossible to catch a glimpse of the falls. From the falling water rises a glistening blanket of mist which makes the sight all the more enchanting. This wondrous waterfall is a stunning site and brings travellers from all over the world to view its majesty.
Activities
There are a lot of things to do on and around the Zambezi River. They include;
- White water rafting expeditions

Nyanga National Park lies in one of the most picturesque areas of Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands. Located in the northeast of Zimbabwe near the town of Nyanga, Nyanga National Park is one of the first national parks to be declared in the country. This Mount Nyangani dominated park (also the highest point in Zimbabwe), covers an area of 440 sq km and is one of the most visited national park of Zimbabwe. The Park also incorporates the former Mutarazi Falls National Park on its southern boundary; and is surrounded by privately owned commercial farms, forestry plantations, tea estates and communal lands.

Nyanga National Park

Nyanga Park is well watered by numerous streams and rivers. The central and eastern parts of the park form part of the Zambezi Basin. The Nyangombe River, whose tributaries include the Mare River and the Nyamuziwa River, and the Kayirezi River both flow north out of the park, ultimately to join the Mazowe River.
Another great feature in the park is the Mutarazi Falls. Situated on the Mutarazi River, this is the second tallest waterfall in Africa. It plunges some 762m in two drops into the Honde Valley.
VEGETATION
Nyanga’s varied altitude supports different types of habitat. The mountains are dominat with Afromontane vegetation at high altitude (1,700–2,400m), comprising fine-leaved dwarf shrubland with a large variety of herbaceous plants, including some Afro-alpine species. On the eastern slopes as well as in the steeper valleys on west-facing slopes, the rainforest contains a mixture of green trees. Syzygium is dominant in this undisturbed forest. Afrocrania montane forest dominates the wet boulder-screes and in high valleys. Treeferns are a very noticeable part of the Nyanga flora, with the common tree fern occurring on the moorlands and the forest tree fern in the rainforests. There are also small patches of drier Widdringtonia coniferous forest in fire-protected sites. In the drier, flatter west, the grasslands are interspersed with dwarf Brachystegia woodland. Acacia woodlands occur in isolated patches at the base of granite kopjes. Vast plantations and

forests of non-native Acacia and Pinus are also extensive in the area.
WILDLIFE
Nyanga National Park contains one of the richest faunas of any Zimbabwe Parks & Reserves. A wildlife checklist reveals an amazing range of localized mammals including rare sightings of the African buffalo and lion that wander away into the park areas from the Mozambique lowlands. Safari visitors have guaranteed chance to spot the reedbuck, klipspringer kudu and several other antelopes; predators including leopard and hyenas, are also present. The African clawless otter is common in the upper Kairezi River, in the north-east of the park. Presnt is the Inyangani River Frog, an endangered amphibian found in rocky, fast-flowing streams in the montane grassland. Travelers are indeed treated to a true African wild in Nyanga.
BIRD LIFE

Nyanga Wattled Cranes

Nyanga national park is also known as exotic birding paradise. The park boasts 400 species of birds including the Pallid Harrier, Wattled Crane, Whyte’s Barbet, Olive Bush-shrike, White-tailed Crested-flycatcher, Briar Warbler, Stripe-cheeked Greenbul, Yellow-throated Woodland-warbler, Swee Waxbill, Black-eared Seedeater, Red-faced Crimson-wing, Bronze Sunbird, etc. The several species are mostly resident in Nyanga’s grasslands which also double as an important breeding ground.
GETTING THERE
The Park lies 260km east of Harare. Visitors may take the Harare – Mutare Road east for 170km to Rusape and turn left. Proceed on the Nyanga road for 91km and turn right at the Main Park entrance. From Mutare, visitors should take the Harare – Mutare Road west for 11km and turn right at the Juliasdale road. Take this road for about 85km and get to Nyanga Village. Take the right turn to find the Main entrance.
ACTIVITIES

Mount Nyangani Hiking – There are numerous hiking paths leading to most of the waterfalls and many of the ruins, and along the rivers and mountains in Nyanga Park. The scenic beauty of many of the roads and tracks also makes these attractive for hiking.

Camping Safaris – Nyanga camping safaris are the most comprehensive off-the-beaten track tours in the park. There are three large rest camps with fully-equipped, self-catering lodges. There are also two privately-owned camps and sites here i.e. Rhodes Hotel on the south bank of Rhodes Dam and the Mountain Club of Zimbabwe hut. There is also a special camping ground at Mutarazi Falls.

Longer trails are common at Warrendale and beyond Udu Dam. The trails start and end at the Pony Trails office, on the gravel road from the park headquarters to Mare Dam.

Fly fishing – this activity is popular at the dams and rivers. The entrance fee includes a fishing license, valid for all waters open to fishing, except for Lake Gulliver and Purdon Dam, for which a separate license is available.

Situated in a remotely isolated region in northwestern Zimbabwe, Chizarira National Park is perhaps one of the largest (at 2,000 sq km) and most scenic wildlife parks in Zimbabwe. It lies on, and south of, the Zambezi Rift Valley escarpment, about 80 km south-east of the small town of Binga, on the southern shore of Lake Kariba. The park is bounded in the north, west and east by Binga, Gokwe and Manjolo Communal Lands; and by the Chirisa Safari Area in the south.. Because of its isolated situation and remote nature, the tranquility and rugged beauty of Chizarira National Park is indeed unequalled.
Vegetation
Closed off by the undulating plateau of the Zambezi Escarpment, Chizarira this park has been blessed with an amazing species of Flora. It has some of the rarest species of trees which are found nowhere else in Zimbabwe. The vegetation ranges from highveld Brachystegia species in the north to lowland mopane scrub and woodland in the south. The Acacia albida woodlands along the southern boundary to the riverbank of the park supports a wide range of plant species including Mishimi Teeta, a local medicinal plant used to cure diseases.

Matusadona National Park is a game reserve park in western Zimbabwe nestled along the southern shores of Lake Kariba (like an inland sea in a landlocked country). With a size of 1,407 sq km, lesser-known Matusadona is bounded in the east by the dramatic Sanyati Gorge and by Umi River in the west. Lake Kariba, 280km long and 32km wide was created by damming the mighty Zambezi and Nyaminyami – the River God – was most displeased at the harnessing of his powers. It is one of the last remaining sanctuaries of the endangered Black Rhinoceros in the world.

Matusadona Elephants

Lake Kariba & Matusadona National Park has been blessed with an array of species of wildlife. It attracts a large number of tourists and wildlife enthusiasts because of Lake Kariba’s water wildlife coupled with great inland wildlife viewing. The lake has a significant population of crocodiles in Lake Kariba. Several of them can be seen sunbathing along the shore. There are so many crocs that the National Parks authority permits crocodile farms to gather eggs annually, but returning 2% of hatchlings back to the lake.
There are also more to see including large herds of elephant, buffalo and plenty of hippos and waterbuck. Further into the park roan and sable antelope, kudu, impala, lions, warthogs and black rhino are often seen, but leopards are elusive. Matusadona is also recognized as having the second largest concentration of wild lions in Africa after. Buffalo are especially prominent and herds of up to 1,000-strong often congregate along the shoreline in the dry season. Water Birds are also plentiful such as fish eagles, cormorants plus numerous other bird species.

matusadona-fish-eagle

Best Time to Visit
It is dry from late June to October and animals congregate around the lake to quench as well as to graze along the banks. As the rain clouds build, October’s heat is oppressive and temperatures go beyond 30°C. It usually rains intermittently from early November to the end of April and animals have no need to stay so close to the lake.
Generally, the dry season presents the best time to visit during a Zimbabwe safari especially with the gathering of the animals near the lake.

Activities

Stunning sunsets are a distinctive feature of Kariba, as are the bleached skeletal trunks and bare branches of dead trees that were drowned the dam all those years ago. It is a perfect sight for Zimbabwe holidays.

Walking safaris are extremely adventurous and fishing for tiger and bream is tremendous.

Game viewing by boat along the shore is an astonishing experience. Visitors easily spot large herds of elephant, buffalo and plenty of hippos and waterbucks.

Swimming is not advised except in a swimming cage on the back of some of the larger houseboats.

Welcome to Mana Pools National Park.

Mana Pools National park is one of the national parks of Zimbabwe. It is nestled along a deep section of the southern bank of the Zambezi River in an area of good quality alluvial soils. Mana Pools is a big attraction for the wildlife lovers. The park derives its names from a number of large pools which also produces the remoteness it has.

mana-pools-hippos

What to see
Mana Pools National park has Zimbabwe’s largest concentration of hippos and crocodiles and large dry season mammal populations of elephant and buffalo. Others include the zebra and eland. During the wet season, most of these animals leave the river area to seek grazing and browsing closer to the escarpment. As the year progresses, shortages of food and water inland force them back towards the Zambezi, where the river terraces, with their extensive grasslands and nutritious acacia pods bears several hundred pounds of seed pods every year. This is why game viewing in the park is seasonal.
Bird life
The remote and beautiful Mana Pools National Park also offers a mosaic of amazing habitats with some rare bird species. Over 380 bird species have been recorded here including the gorgeous Nyasa lovebird, white-collared pratincole, Livingstone’s flycatcher, banded snake eagle and yellow spotted nicator.
Getting There
By Road – Makuti is the main route and lies 296km north of Harare on the main highway to Zambia along which is also the last fuel station before the park. Continue along the road for more 30km to Nyakasikana Gate. From this point is an additional 42km to the main office at Nyamepi Camp. However, the road surface is extremely rough; drivers are cautioned to be careful. All visitors are required to stop and obtain an entry permit before proceeding to the Zambezi Valley and later to Mana Pools.
Where to Stay
Accommodation in Mana Pools National Park is available in luxury bush camps and lodges on the Zambezi such as at Chikwenya, Nyamepi and Ruckomechi.
Activities

Game drives and specially the bush walks are so prominent in the park. These offer the opportunity to stand near buffalo or elephant or watch crocodile and hippo from close quarters with nothing but your fear to protect you. The game drives are more adventurous in the early morning and late afternoon.

There are also guided canoe trails down the Zambezi River from Kariba in the west, to Kanyemha in the east.

Fishing on the Zambezi River, here you will find tiger fish, bream, chessa, nkupe, vundu and several other local species.

Birding tours are also often especially around the Zambezi vicinity.

Best Time to Visit
The short season running from September to October presents the best time for Zimbabwe safaris in Mana Pools National park. This is when the park has the highest concentration of wildlife and spotted with ease in less thick areas. However, during this time the temperatures go as high as 38 degrees Celsius.

Also famously known as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya, the magnificent Victoria falls is 1708m wide and is recognized as the world’s largest water curtain. The spectacular falls shared by Zambia and Zimbabwe and is territorially divided by Cecil Rhodes’ famous bridge produces deafening roars and forms a thick blanket of mist as millions of litres of water flow down its cliff. The thrust of the water is something to be beheld and enjoyed.

Wildlife

victoria-cape-buffalo

Victoria Falls National Park contains some big game such as elephants, Cape buffalo, lions, giraffe, white Rhino and antelopes like kudu and waterbuck. Plenty of crocodiles may be seen in the river Zambezi, and a nearby Crocodile Ranch offers a safer view of these dangerous animals. Riverine bird life is plentiful with egrets, herons, cormorants, fish eagles and kingfishers.

Things to do and see

Victoria Falls – one of the World’s greatest natural splendours and also one of Africa’s premier holiday destinations. The period between September and December offers the best time to see sufficiently impressive amounts of water pouring over the edge. The best view of the falls is from the air.

Grand Zambezi River – white-water rafting, sundowner cruising, fishing, bird watching and game viewing.

Visiting Seasons
Wet Season: It usually rains anywhere from November through to April, creating a hot and humid climate. The falls are at their wettest and most spectacular by the end of this summer rainy season.
Dry Season: May to October is usually dry and September and October allows better photo opportunities at Victoria Falls as there is much less spray, but the torrent is slightly less impressive. The dry season also presents the prime for game viewing in Zambezi National Park.
Where to Stay
Accommodation in the park is available plenty ranging from simple fishing camps to exclusive safari lodges and five-star hotels. For instance there are several campsites near Zambezi National Park and in the numerous resorts and hotels in and around the town of Victoria Falls. Victoria Falls Hotel and the Victoria Falls safari lodge are some of the best facilities available.

Zimbabwe is a landlocked country located in the southern Africa between the Zambezi and Limpopo rivers. It shares borders with four countries; Mozambique in the east, South Africa in the south, Zambia in the northwest and Botswana in the southwest.
Three official languages namely English, Shona and Ndebele (both Bantu languages) are used in Zimbabwe. The major cities are Harare, the capital, Beitbridge, Bulawayo, Chinhoyi, Gweru, Kariba, Kwekwe, Masvingo, Mutare, Nyanga and Victoria Falls.
Most of the country’s Eastern region has a series of mountainous areas near the border with Mozambique. The highest peak in Zimbabwe, Mount Nyangani at 2,593 m (8,507 ft) is located here as well as the Bvumba Mountains and the Nyanga National Park.

Zimbabwe boasts several major tourist attractions especially spectacular Victoria Falls, one of the world’s biggest and most spectacular waterfalls on Zambezi River in the north west of Zimbabwe and shared with Zambia. This world treasure is so popular with Zimbabwe Safaris.
Highly recommended Zimbabwe tours are to Victoria Falls National Park and Hwange National Park two of the eight main Zimbabwe National Parks. These parks are home to an amazing variety of rare local Wildlife.

Bvumba Mountains

Trekking tours to the Eastern Highlands of the country are interesting. These are a series of mountainous ranges near the border with Mozambique. Hiking to the peak of Mount Nyangani at 2,593m and the Bvumba Mountains have on several occasions turned out to be the most rewarding tours for travelers to Southern Africa.
Zimbabwe is unusual in Africa. It has a number of ancient ruined cities built in a unique dry stone style like the famous ruins in Masvingo. Other ruins include Khami Ruins, the Zimbabwe, Dhlo-Dhlo and Naletale. These tourist potentials have become inspiring tourist attractions to the current generations for the Zimbabwe Tourism sector due to their ancient structure.
Zimbabwe Flights are not popular as several airlines have pulled out operations. Airlines such as Qantas, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines were among the first to pull out and most recently British Airways suspended all direct flights to Harare. The country’s flagship airline Air Zimbabwe still flies to the United Kingdom. Zimbabwe’s May, June and July are its coolest months, and the most pleasant time of the year to visit. To really see the Victoria Falls, the jewel in Zimbabwe’s crown, at its best, go between April and June when the Zambezi is in flood. The dry season runs to October, and you’ll be looking at parched earth some of the time. This is the best time, however, to find a good deal on a Zimbabwe flight. Winter is the most pleasant time to travel, and is best for game viewing and white water rafting; however this is also peak tourist season and is the busiest time of year.
