Harare
is the largest city and capital of Zimbabwe. It is nestled at an elevation of 1,483 metres hence the warm temperate climate it experiences. The city has an estimated population of 1,600,000 residents; and is an independent city whose status equates to a province. The city is a trade centre for tobacco, maize, cotton, and citrus fruits.

It is Zimbabwe’s centre for international business transactions (Commerce, manufacture and trade – textiles, steel, chemicals and gold are mined in the area), it’s a residential area, it plays host to numerous sports and cultural events including political conferences, football and cricket events; administratively it houses most government departments as well as educational roles (it is the site of the University of Zimbabwe). Getting There and Around

Getting into this exotic city is amazing easy. There are several highways that lead to Harare from Johannesburg, South Africa as well as other neighbouring countries. You can get there by car or by bus. Travellers from outside the region and Africa, cheap flights to Harare are easily and widely available from the major international airports. Harare’s airport is the major gateway for Zimbabwe flights. The national carrier, Air Zimbabwe also operates a small network of domestic flights.
